I was born into a long and proud line of loudmouths. When my dad is talking to my grandmother on the phone, I can hear HER from across the house. Being vocal has always been part of my destiny! I’ve been an actress for many years (shouting in Elizabethan English out at the Georgia Renaissance Festival since I was sixteen) and I consider this training to be instrumental in my work as a Speaking Center tutor.

Though Dr. Lawrence will always disagree with me, everything in life should be a performance… at the very least in the sense that things should be fun and that you should have the utmost confidence in them! Naturally, my favorite thing to tutor in the Speaking Center is delivery. It makes me really excited to watch shy girls transform into public speaking rock stars. I believe firmly that everyone has something great to say. I consider it my job to get you to believe that what you have to say is awesome. I mean, I’ll help with outlines and everything, but I really love it when someone needs a public speaking pep talk. Confidence is the most essential element of any presentation.

Also, I’m a Junior majoring in English Literature/Creative Writing (I specialize in supremely depressing nonfiction). I’m a member of Blackfriars and on the weekends, I can be seen working box office at the New American Shakespeare Tavern. I really, really hate lettuce and I really, really love Muppets. All of the boys on Glee (and also Quinn) are my boyfriends. I’m just waiting for the right moment to tell them.
